Itálica was the first Roman city founded in the Iberian Peninsula, and the birthplace of the Emperors Trajan and Hadrian. The main building on this archaeological site is the amphitheatre, the third largest in the world with a capacity of 25.000 spectators. Itálica is also well known for its mosaics and domus.

In this half-day tour, you will visit both the Roman Theatre, located in the centre of the village of Santiponce, and the archaeological site of Itálica. The itinerary also includes a visit to the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo in Santiponce. Itálica holds an amphitheatre that was once considered as the largest in the ancient world. It was one of the earliest Roman settlements in Spain and was founded in 206 BC. It became renowned for its military importance in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. Throughout the trip, your expert guide will share the fascinating history behind this famous sight.

De verzamelplek in de ochtend was verwarrend (********** klopte maar half en het bleek dat we ons ergens binnen moesten gaan melden) was beter geweest om aan te geven dat we naar een groene banner/vlag moesten zoeken. Gids was geweldig met erg veel kennis en passie, de 'eigen tijd' om even rond te lopen was veel te kort (circa 7 minuten), de totale excursie duurde 5 uur i.p.v. 4 uur, had best 6 uur mogen zijn.

Muy bien tanto la presentación como la dinámica de los guías turísticos, tanto de Carlos(San Isidoro del Campo) como de (creo recordar bien el nombre) Alejandro.Disculpen si no recuerdo el nombre del segundo que fue el que nos hizo el recorrido por Itálica y nos encantó tanto a las chicas como a mi.
