Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the amazing Valley stretches across a plateau a short distance from the sea and boasts an excellent state of preservation, housing important Doric temples dating back to the Hellenic period. There were originally eleven temples, and you can still admire the remains of five of them with a local guide. You'll start your journey through time from the majestic Temple of Hera, going on to the remains of the early Christian Necropolis and then proceeding to the Temple of Concord, the Temple of Heracles, and the remains of the Temple of Zeus.
