Coyoacan Mole and Mezcal food tour by Eduardo Palazuelos

Chef Eduardo Palazuelo has crafted a distinctive tour of Coyoacán in Mexico City, blending culture and culinary experiences for an enjoyable experience.

Coyoacán, filled with colonial heritage, displays 16th century churches, convents, and homes adorned with colourful facades and traditional plazas. The neighborhood has a rich artistic legacy, once home to prominent figures like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Coyoacán is renowned for its relaxed lifestyle, artisanal markets, and diverse culinary scene. Visitors can savour traditional Mexican dishes, street food, and international cuisine in charming settings.

Your journey begins at a traditional Mexican restaurant handpicked by the chef where you'll sample four different moles accompanied by tortillas and mezcal. Do remember to mention your spice preferences– but never tell a Mexican chef you like it very spicy!

Following this, you'll visit a local fruit market displaying unusual regional products. Next door, you'll indulge in appetisers or “antojitos” paired with another mezcal tasting, offering insights into pre-Colombian gastronomy and regional cheeses. No food tour is complete without coffee and sweets; churros are a must on any Mexican visit.

Eduardo Palazuelos draws inspiration from the rich traditions and regional cultures reflected in moles, each characterised by local ingredients and family recipes. With a carefully curated selection, this tour promises a delightful exploration of Mexico’s culinary heritage.
