Secure your entrance tickets for El Soplao Cave and step into a geological masterpiece spanning over 20km of tunnels and galleries, first unearthed in Cantabria in 1908.
The cave's moniker, “los soplaos”, is derived from a term coined by miners to describe the karstic cavities they encountered during their labour, which resulted in powerful air currents.
A mine train will take you about 400 metres through a tunnel with conditioned mining shoring. You'll then walk 60 meters through some old mining galleries to access the cave.
The exploration covers about 1,500 meters and takes roughly an hour. Besides the rock formations within the cave, you'll also enjoy one of the best views of the Picos de Europa.
