Teide and Masca tour from southern Tenerife

4.5/5
903 reviews

This exclusive tour explores Tenerife's most dramatic inland areas. You'll venture in an eight-seater minivan through the otherworldly landscapes of Teide National Park, admire the panoramas from countless viewpoints and visit the ridge-top hamlet of Masca. Plus, there's traditional Canarian lunch on the menu, too. Arianne, one of our expert local guides, say, "I love guiding this tour because it's an overdose of nature, focusing on the island's volcanology, from the past to the present."

Your adventure kicks off by heading south into Teide National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – climbing through a dense pine forest. There's a pit stop at Chirche viewpoint, which often overlooks cloud-shrouded terrain below. The scenery around here is still bursting with greenery. But as we journey deeper into the national park, you'll encounter volcanic landscapes that could easily be on the moon, Venus or Mars. Desolate, rock-strewn badlands. A stop at Roques de Garcia allows you to take some pics near these iconic rock formations, with the volcano's cone in the background.

Grab a last look at the lava-scarred landscapes at Poleos viewpoint before dropping into a family-run restaurant for a lunch made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Rounding off the day is a visit to Masca – a hard-to-reach hamlet perched on a ridge in a deep volcanic gorge. Enjoy free time to poke around and take in the vistas.

Hjoseph was a fantastic guide. We really enjoyed our day but felt it was a bit rushed as we were back at hotel 15.15 from an 8.30 collection. ( Didn't really start till ,9am) Not exactly 8 hour trip. Would of liked to have spent more time at some of the locations. 2nd stop where you can look over edge. lunch area, and museum area very rushed here needed more time here 100%

Having greatly enjoyed the tour in 2025. This year 2 negatives The tour guide was very poor, speaking to fast and jumping between Spanish and English on an English Tour and did not check on our mini bus during the tour. The walky-talkies communication was very poor. The mini buses while very modern were very limited, I was sitting in the back r/h seat, forward visibility was very limited with 6 heads and 6 head rests in the way and side visibility to the left was very limited by the window h

Lovely day out. Guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. The moonscape scenery is amazing. Very well organised and run. My only negative point is that the service at the lunch was not very friendly, and very rushed, could be improved. The trip advises private minibus, but in fact there were five in a convoy, so forty people on the trip. The drivers were great and very safety conscious. I would definitely recommend, but don't expect a small group.

Very good trip very good idea 4 minibuses with 8 people in each a lot of room in the minibus more than a coach. Translation done by a radio in each van but easy to hear and understand. On our minibus mixture of Spanish and English and young and old driver was very courteous. Would recommend.

The info on the minibus was not good at all, just the sound from a walkie talkie. And he was hard to understand. But the driver was excellent, we felt safe, and he made shoure we was taken care of. Scenery and the drive was amazing. Lunch was very good.
