Not allowed:

  • You are not allowed to enter the sumo ring
  • Pets are not allowed on the tour

Know in advance:

  • You will remove your shoes and either sit on a cushion on the floor or on a chair. It is considered disrespectful to stretch your legs and point your soles toward the sumo wrestlers, so this is prohibited
  • The sumo stable is not a tourist attraction but a serious training facility. Please remain quiet during the visit. If you must make a phone call, please do so outside the sumo stable
  • Restroom breaks or outdoor rests are allowed during the visit. Please ask the guide if needed
  • If the above rules are not followed, you may be asked to leave without re-entry or a refund
  • Your guide is bilingual and will conduct the tour in Japanese and English
  • In case of bad weather, the return taxi fare to your accommodation is included
  • Please indicate the total number of participants at checkout
