Day-tour through Takayama and Shirakawa-go from Nagoya

Discover the magical city of Takayama and the storybook-like village of Shirakawa-go, both UNESCO treasures, in a single unforgettable journey. Immerse yourself in local markets, relish delectable delicacies, and absorb picture-perfect landscapes.

Join your knowledgeable guide at the agreed location and climb aboard a comfortable vehicle.

Japan’s Alpine Heritage Hub Often referred to as the “Little Kyoto of the North,” Takayama in Gifu Prefecture captivates with its Edo-era streets such as Sannomachi, adorned with wooden merchant houses and sake breweries. Taste Hida beef, a succulent, top-quality meat served grilled or in ramen, and wander through Miyagawa Morning Market for fresh produce and handicrafts. Historic landmarks like Takayama Jinya (a preserved 17th-century government office) provide cultural richness, merging tradition with gastronomic delights.

A Fairytale village, listed as UNESCO World Heritage, Shirakawa-go’s gassho-zukuri farmhouses (prayer-hand roofs) exhibit ancient architecture. Nestled in a mountain valley, the village mesmerizes with its seasonal beauty: cherry blossoms, verdant paddies, autumn leaves, and snowy winters. Trek to viewpoints for sweeping vistas or drop by Ogiudo Café, renowned for its enormous dogs and creative coffee. It's a timeless fusion of nature, history, and fairy-tale allure.

The journey concludes back in Nagoya, leaving you with enduring memories of an extraordinary day.
