Kyoto ramen and gyoza cooking class with professional chefs

Immerse yourself in the culinary culture of Kyoto, where you won’t merely savour ramen, but craft it from scratch. This cooking class encompasses the creation of hearty ramen, crunchy gyoza, and aromatic fried rice. Whether you're a seasoned chef or an absolute novice, your guide and ramen expert will lead you through each step. The process is straightforward, enjoyable, and designed for easy replication back home.

The experience begins with a brief history lesson, tracing the roots of ramen from its origins in 17th-century Japan to its surge in popularity in 1910 Tokyo. You'll gain insight into how this food evolved into a national symbol, with over 24,000 ramen shops scattered across Japan today. Then, it's time to start making the noodles from scratch. Knead the dough, roll it out, and cut it into fine strands while learning expert techniques. This activity offers you the opportunity to add your personal touch to your own bowl.

However, the culinary adventure doesn’t end with ramen. Next on the menu are pan-fried gyoza and fried rice. To round off the experience, sit back and relish your culinary creations accompanied by two included beverages—beer, sake, or soft drinks. This experience is ideal for couples, friends, families, or solo travellers. All ingredients, tools, and drinks are provided; all you need to bring is your appetite and curiosity.
