In the first part of your tour, you'll climb up to the top of the fortified medieval city walls of Avignon, discovering the city stretching in all its beauty along the Rhone River. Learn about its historical background, dating back to the early 14th century when the papacy was established. You'll also enjoy access and follow the guide inside the Pope's Palace, the largest Gothic-style Palace in Europe. Your walking tour will end with a glass of Côtes du Rhône wine before enjoying some free time to have lunch on your own in Avignon.

Meet your tour guide again at 2.00 pm in front of Avignon's Tourism Office and begin the afternoon in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Next, you'll head to Les Baux-de-Provence, a picturesque village perched 245 metres above the valley. Stroll through its historic pedestrian streets, visit the Santon Museum, explore the Hôtel des Porcelets — a beautiful 16th-century house — and admire the Romanesque St. Vincent Church. The final stop is the Pont du Gard, an exceptional Roman aqueduct dating back to the first century and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the best-preserved section of the Roman aqueduct that once supplied water to Nîmes.
