Get ready to travel back in time as you leave Edinburgh behind and head to Culross. You may recognise this 16th-century village as the fictional town of Cranesmuir and you'll have time to visit Claire's herb garden, explore the palace and wander through the ancient streets while you imagine what life was like 400 years ago. Then, it's time to travel onwards to Doune Castle or as it's known in Outlander, Castle Leoch. This formidable building gives you an insight into the living conditions of an earl in the 14th century and during your visit, you can learn more with the help of an audio guided tour. Your next stop will be Linlithgow Palace where you can take in the stunning views of the Forth Bridge, have a picnic by the loch and explore the ruins of Mary Queen of Scots' birthplace. You'll move onto the impressive Blackness Castle that bears a striking resemblance to a giant stone boat and then check out Midhope Castle. Unfortunately, visitors cannot go inside the castle but Jamie's lovely Lallybroch home is still an essential photo opportunity for any fans of the show!

- Admission to the other attractions is not included
- Children aged 5 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult
- Please note that you will be unable to visit Midhope Castle on 8, 10, 15, 19, 25, and 29 November; 2, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 27, and 31 December; and 10, 24, 27, and 31 January. On these days, you'll have extra time at the other stops. Additionally, please note that Midhope Castle will be closed during the winter from January 5th to February 13th. During this period, a photo stop is still possible, but it will not be possible to go up to the castle itself
- Please note that Doune Castle will be closed 26 September – 5 October, and will be replaced with Linlithgow Palace (admission included)
- Please note, Blackness Castle will be closed from 29 September to 19 October. During this period, your visit will include alternative attractions at no extra cost. From 29 September to 1 October, the tour will feature Aberdour Castle. On 2 and 3 October, the visit will be replaced with Culross Palace. On 4 and 5 October, Aberdour Castle will again be included. Finally, from 6 to 19 October, Linlithgow Palace will be the alternative to Blackness Castle
